Douglas White (jurist)

Sir Douglas John White KNZM KC (born 5 September 1945) is a former New Zealand jurist.

[1] He was educated as a boarder at Nelson College from 1959 to 1963,[2] and went on to study law at Victoria University of Wellington, graduating Bachelor of Laws with first-class honours.

[3] After practising as a litigation partner and then independent barrister, White was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1988.

[4] In 2016, White was appointed to the Cook Islands Court of Appeal.

[2][3][5] In the 2018 New Year Honours, White was appointed a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to the judiciary.
