Driving instructor

A driving instructor is a person who is hired by a new driver who is learning how to improve their skills - often for an upcoming practical test.

Driving instructors have several tasks such as teaching new drivers the theory and techniques needed to carefully operate various types of vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, trucks and buses.

Additionally, instructors may require working longer hours during the summer months according to the availability of the driving student.

The general requirements are having a full and clean driver licence for specific minimum period of time for the relevant classes of vehicle, passing a fit and proper person test or police background check, having eyesight that meets the minimum requirements for driving, passing a driving instructor training course, and paying any government or local fees applicable.
