[7] Garrett was selected by the Baltimore Colts of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) in the second round, with the 10th overall pick, of the 1948 AAFC draft, and by the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL) in the third round, with the 21st overall pick, of the 1948 NFL draft.
