Ducky Holmes (catcher)

Howard Elbert "Ducky" Holmes (July 8, 1883 – September 18, 1945) was a catcher in Major League Baseball.

He played in 9 games for the 1906 St. Louis Cardinals.

Later, he managed the Dayton Ducks of the Middle Atlantic League (1932–1938, 1941–1942).

After the Dayton Ducks folded at the end of the 1942 season, Holmes worked in a grocery store until his death.
