Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality

This constitutional change led to the merging of several previously separate Village Development Committees (VDCs), specifically Jubing, Basa, Kaku, and Baku, into a single local governance unit.

The municipality is characterized by its picturesque landscapes, comprising hills and rivers, and it plays a crucial role in supporting the livelihoods of its residents through agriculture and tourism.

Overall, Mapya Dudhkoshi exemplifies the shift toward decentralized governance in Nepal, aiming to empower local communities and enhance their quality of life.

According to Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Developme Mapya Dudhkoshi has an area of 167.67 square kilometres (64.74 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is 13414 as of Census of Nepal 2011.
