Dwight is a city in Morris County, Kansas, United States.
[4] Dwight had its start in the year 1887 by the building of the Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway through that territory.
[5] It was named for Dwight Rathbone, the owner of the original town site.
[7] The Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway was foreclosed in 1891 and taken over by Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway, which shut down in 1980 and reorganized as Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas Railroad, merged in 1988 with Missouri Pacific Railroad, merged in 1997 with Union Pacific Railroad.
[9] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.37 square miles (0.96 km2), all land.
[10] The 2020 United States census counted 217 people, 90 households, and 59 families in Dwight.
There were 113 housing units at an average density of 313.0 per square mile (120.9/km2).

The Dwight Rockets[25] won the Kansas State High School boys class BB basketball championship in 1966 and 1967.
