[1] The ECWA Super 8 Tournament was first held in 1997 and was won by Ace Darling.

The inaugural Super 8 Tournament took part on February 22, 1997, at the St. Matthew's Parish in Wilmington, Delaware.

[17][18] In the tournament finals, Ace Darling defeated Cheetah Master (accompanied by WWE Hall of Famer Lou Albano) to win the tournament and the vacant ECWA Television Championship.

[4][17] The second Super 8 Tournament took part on March 21, 1998, at the Saint Matthews Parish Hall in Wilmington, Delaware.

[17][19] Lance Diamond won the tournament after defeating Inferno Kid in the finals.
