eXeLearning is a free / libre software tool under GPL-2 that can be used to create educational interactive web content.

To classify, or to catalog, educational contents according to different metadata models: Dublin Core, LOM, LOM-ES.

The new eXeLearning, as it was named, would keep alive the original open source spirit of the project, adapting the application to new web developments and standards and introducing major improvements.

[7][8] Beginning with version 2.0, innovations included: A new eXeLearning website was also developed, which allows users to actively participate in the project by making contributions and suggestions, and to find answers to different questions.

The project roadmap includes plans for an online version of the application, rewriting in Python 3, and a new UI.
