Ed Samcoff

Samcoff made his MLB debut on April 21, 1951 as a pinch hitter at Fenway Park against Chuck Stobbs of the Boston Red Sox; he batted for Philadelphia pitcher Bob Hooper and grounded out, Stobbs to first baseman Billy Goodman.

He spent the remainder of the 1951 campaign in the minor leagues, with the Double-A Memphis Chicks of the Southern Association.

In 795 minor league games played, Samcoff collected 851 hits and posted a batting average of .291.
