In 1888, Frank Guise, an African-American man was shot and killed for allegedly insulting a white person.

The nearest station is located in Yazoo City, 11 miles (18 km) to the south.

The Village of Eden is served by the Yazoo County School District.

The village also receives mutual aid from District 3 Volunteer Fire Department, just outside Yazoo City.
