Unincorporated communities in the township include Camargo, Hawksville, and Conners Mill.

The borough of Quarryville borders the southwestern corner of the township.

At the 2000 census there were 1,856 people, 578 households, and 476 families living in the township.

14.0% of households were made up of individuals, and 6.6% were one person aged 65 or older.
