Eduardo Barrios

Eduardo Barrios (October 25, 1884 in Valparaíso – September 13, 1963 in Santiago),[1] was a Chilean writer and poet.

He spent much of his young adulthood travelling throughout Latin America doing a colorful array of jobs to earn a living.

[2] By 1915 he was back in Chile working for a variety of newspapers and magazines, including La Mañana, Zig Zag, revista Pacifico and revista Atenea.

From 1925 to 1959 he held various positions in government, museums and the local Press.

He was elected to the Chilean, Argentinian and the Brazilian Academy of Writers.
