Edward Anwyl (1786–1857) was a Welsh Wesleyan minister and school teacher.
Born in April 1786 at Ty'nllan, Llanegryn, Merionethshire, his parents were Ann and Owen Anwyl.
[1] He attended the school in his hometown until he was about 12 years of age, when he became a farm laborer[2] because his father was dying.
[3] Griffith Hughes of the Wesleyans came to town in 1804 and he joined the church two years later.
[2][5][6] Described as an "indefatigable" worker, he is reported to have walked 72 miles one Sunday to deliver sermons at three locations.
