Edward Bierstone FRSC (born (1946-12-21)December 21, 1946) is a Canadian mathematician at the University of Toronto who specializes in singularity theory, analytic geometry, and differential analysis.
He was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study in the summer of 1973.
[2] Bierstone was elected a member of the Royal Society of Canada in 1992 and, together with Pierre Milman, received the Jefferey Williams Prize in 2005.
[3] In 2018 the Canadian Mathematical Society listed him in their inaugural class of fellows.
