Edward John Dunn (1 November 1844 – 20 April 1937) was an English-born Australian geologist, winner of the 1905 Murchison Medal.
In 1871 Dunn returned to England, via South Africa, where he was government geologist for the Cape Colony reporting on mines.
In 1873 he went to London, studied at the school of mines, Jermyn Street, and obtained his certificate for assaying.
[1] At age 84, Dunn published a comprehensive work on the Geology of Gold (1929); his book on The Bushman, based on his South Africa experience, came out two years later.
A list of his publications can be found in In Memory of Edward John Dunn, Melbourne, 1937.
