Edwin F. Hunter

Born on February 18, 1911, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Hunter received a Bachelor of Laws in 1938 from George Washington University Law School.

He was Executive Counsel to Governor Robert F. Kennon of Louisiana from 1952 to 1953.

[1] Hunter received a recess appointment from President Dwight D. Eisenhower on October 3, 1953, to a seat on the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana vacated by Judge Gaston Louis Noel Porterie.

He was confirmed by the United States Senate on February 9, 1954, and received his commission the next day.

His service terminated on February 22, 2002, due to his death in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
