Edwin J. Peterson[1] (March 30, 1930 – December 2, 2023) was an American jurist in the state of Oregon.

a Distinguished Jurist in Residence at Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon.

[3] He entered the United States Air Force the following year, attaining the rank of first lieutenant and serving until 1954.

[2] Following private practice, he joined the Oregon Supreme Court on May 15, 1979 after being appointed by Governor Vic Atiyeh.

[2] Peterson has, in the past, been a member of the Salem Pops Orchestra, where he played the French horn.
