It is located in the municipality of Het Hogeland, 17 km northwest of the city of Groningen.

[3] Eenrum was a separate municipality until 1990, then it was merged with Ulrum, Kloosterburen and Leens.

[4] Eenrum is a terp (artificial mount) village dating from the Middle Ages.

[7] The village is host to a major motorcycle racing circuit.

It hosted the 2009 Team Long Track World Championship, which was won by Germany.
