He serves as the Director-General at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), a professor of political science at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and was a professor of political studies at the now-defunct University of Transkei, South Africa.
[1][2] Osaghae obtained his PhD in Political Science from the University of Ibadan in 1986, where he later became a professor.
[5] Eghosa Osaghae has authored over 150 articles in the field of political science and has written several books.
In 1996, he received the "Best Paper Award" at the Eighth annual conference of the International Association for Conflict Management in Helsignor, Denmark.
[2][5] Osaghae is married to Veronica Amen (nee Jatto), and they have children and grandchildren.
