Elections in Utah

Elections in Utah are held to fill various local, state, and federal seats.

Special elections may be held to fill vacancies at other points in time.

[2][3] Utah was the single most Republican-leaning state in the country in every presidential election from 1976 to 2004, measured by the percentage point margin between the Republican and Democratic candidates.

However, the 2016 presidential election result saw Republican Donald Trump carry the state with only a plurality, the first time this happened since 1992.

In a 2020 study, Utah was ranked as the 3rd easiest state for citizens to vote in.
