Eli Keshet

Eli Keshet (Hebrew: אלי קשת) is an Israeli biochemist and professor of molecular biology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

His post-doctoral work included studies in the laboratory of Howard Temin at the University of Wisconsin (1976–79).

In 2006 he won the EMET Prize, in 2014 the Rothchild award and 2015 the NAVBO Benditt Meritorious Award[4] His main research area deals with the question of how new blood vessels are created when there is a shortage of oxygen.

This process has far-reaching implications for the development of diseases concerning the eye's retina, as well as cancer.

Keshet published more than 130 papers in journals which have been cited over 34,000 times.
