Elijah Dix Green

He also founded the Second Baptist Church in Calais, Maine.

[1] Green was born on March 22, 1799,[2] in North Yarmouth, District of Maine, to Thomas Green, a Baptist minister, and Salome Barstow.

Elijah was hoping to take advantage of the booming lumbering trade on the St. Croix River.

[5] He was a founder of the Second Baptist Church in Calais in 1842;[6] he was also a deacon there.

[5][7] Green died on March 7, 1867, aged 68, three years after his wife.
