Ella Kivikoski

Ella Margareta Kivikoski (25 May 1901 in Tammela – 27 July 1990) was the first Finnish female to earn a doctorate in archaeology in Finland.

[1] In 1931, she studied at the Baltic Institute in Stockholm and developed a scholarly working relationship with the Estonian archaeologist Harri Moora.

[2] She was a Professor of Archaeology at the University of Helsinki from 1948 until 1969, specializing in both Finnish and Nordic archaeology.

[1] Her specialty was the Finnish Iron Age.
