Elmo, Missouri

Elmo is a city in Nodaway County, Missouri, United States.

Elmo, first called Ebbony,[4] was platted in 1879, when the railroad was extended to that point.

[6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.23 square miles (0.60 km2), all land.

The racial makeup of the city was 97.0% White, 1.2% Native American, and 1.8% from two or more races.

31.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 15.6% of families and 24.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 28.9% of those under the age of eighteen and 16.7% of those 65 or over.
