Elton L. Daniel

Elton L. Daniel (born 1948) is an American historian and Iranologist.

[2] Daniel is the director of the Ehsan Yarshater Center for Iranian Studies at Columbia University and the editor-in-chief of Encyclopaedia Iranica.

He has conducted research and traveled extensively in Iran, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, France, and the United Kingdom.

He has published many books and articles pertaining to the history of Iran, including a revised translation of Al-Ghazali's Alchemy of Happiness.
