Elwood Hamilton (February 22, 1883 – September 19, 1945) was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and previously was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
Born in Benson (an unincorporated community in Franklin County),[1] Kentucky, Hamilton received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1904.
[2] Hamilton was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on June 14, 1935, to a seat on the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky vacated by Judge Charles I. Dawson.
His service terminated on April 1, 1938, due to his elevation to the Sixth Circuit.
