Embassy of the United States, Stockholm

The diplomatic mission of the United States was established in April 1818 and elevated to an embassy in 1947.

[5] The embassy building was inaugurated in 1955, designed by two American architects; Ralph Rapson and his colleague John Van der Muelen, with Swedish contact architect and collaborator Anders Tengbom.

[6][7] The same pair of architects also designed the Embassy of the United States, Copenhagen.

[8][7] The embassy has been the subject of numerous demonstrations and barricades,[9][10] including those related to the September 11 attacks and the Iraq War.
