Emil Josef Straube is a Swiss and American mathematician.
[1] For the academic year 1983–1984 Straube was a visiting research scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He has held visiting research positions in Switzerland, Germany, the US, and Austria.
[2] In 1995 he was a co-winner, with Harold P. Boas, of the Stefan Bergman Prize of the American Mathematical Society.
[3] In 2006 Straube was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Madrid.
