His parents were Theodore and Joanna E. Kiesewetter, natives of Germany, who had emigrated to Franklin County in 1844.
[1] On September 30, 1862, Kiesewetter enlisted as a private in Company B, 46th Ohio Infantry during the American Civil War.
[1] He remained at the camp as a clerk until August 25, when he hired on as a bookkeeper at a Columbus firm.
While he was auditor, Kiesewetter fired two shots at a newspaper reporter W. J. Elliott[3] on November 8, 1885, in a Columbus hotel.
Kieswetter organized Ohio Savings Bank, where he became president in 1908 and chairman of the board in 1921.
[3] Kiesewetter died October 28, 1924, and was interred at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
