The species is endemic to the Mariana Islands.
[1][2] The specific name, slevini, is in honor of American herpetologist Joseph Richard Slevin.
[3] The preferred natural habitat of E. slevini is forest, at altitudes from sea level to 400 m (1,300 ft).

Adults have a snout-to-vent length of 5.8–8.5 cm (2.3–3.3 in).
