Engelbert, 8th Duke of Arenberg

He was the son of Prosper Louis, 7th Duke of Arenberg, and belonged to one of the most important European noble families.

In 1868, he married his second cousin Eleonore Ursula d'Arenberg (1845–1919).

They had three daughters and two sons:[1][better source needed] The Arenberg Foundation describe him as a great patron of the arts.

[2] He was the last Duke of Arenberg to hold possessions in Germany.

In 1861 he became a member of the Prussian House of Lords.
