Enterprise, Clarke County, Mississippi

Enterprise is a town in Clarke County, Mississippi, United States.

[4] The town was founded in 1834, by John J. McRae, who later served as Governor of Mississippi.

[5] In the early days of the American Civil War, a military training camp was set up at Enterprise for newly created Confederate units.

[6] After the fall of Vicksburg and Port Hudson in July, 1863, thousands of paroled Confederate troops were sent to a camp at Enterprise to await exchange.

[3] As of the 2020 United States census, there were 496 people, 202 households, and 137 families residing in the town.
