Environment is a 1917 American silent drama film directed by James Kirkwood and starring Mary Miles Minter.
The village minister, Henry Pennfield (Fisher), takes an interest in Liz and develops an attraction to her, which she reciprocates.
Meanwhile, Mildred Holcombe (Shelby), a rich society girl of the village, has fallen in love with Arnold Brice, who claims to be a travelling artist but is in fact selling forgeries.
When her disapproving brother Arthur is about to catch Mildred in a clandestine tryst with Brice, Liz hurries to warn the other girl.
He reveals the truth to Arthur Holcombe, sees that Brice leaves town, resigns his position as minister, and announces that he will wed Liz Simpkins.
