Founded in 1965, it is composed of all active and retired members of the Catholic hierarchy (i.e., diocesan, coadjutor, and auxiliary bishops) in Madagascar.
The current vice president is Marie Fabien Raharilamboniaina, OCD, the Bishop of Morondava.
