Ethir Neechal is the soundtrack album for the 2013 Tamil film of the same name directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar and produced by Dhanush, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Priya Anand in the lead roles.

The six-song album features tracks belonging to varied genres, with lyrics written by Vaali, Dhanush and Durai Senthilkumar.

[2] In mid-November, the composer headed to Mumbai to record vocals for two of the tracks, with one being a melody number, sung by Shreya Ghoshal.

[12][13] The release coincided with the promotional launch event held at 92.7 Big FM Radio Station,[14] with Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, Anirudh, Durai Senthilkumar and RJ Balaji in attendance.

[15][16] To make the launch more unique, Dhanush advertised that the film's album would be released on "Internet, CDs, YouTube and piracy sites" which received attention from movie buffs.

[19][20]The Times of India gave 3.5 out of 5 stating Ethir Neechal isn't as rich as 3 in its sounding, but it's a worthy follow up by composer Anirudh.

"[27] The soundtrack to Ethir Neechal topped the iTunes charts upon its release on 11 January 2013, surpassing Kadal,[28] and continued its position for more than 3-4 weeks.
