Evelyn Domenica Berckman (October 18, 1900[1] – September 18, 1978[2]) was an American writer noted for her detective and Gothic horror novels.

[7] In 1960 she moved to the city permanently, settling in the Kensington area and living at various addresses until her death from heart disease in 1978.
