The current team was formed in 2000 and in 2001 it turned professional.

The club was promoted from the "Center" Zone of the Russian Second Division as champions in the 2007 season.

On 23 December 2009 they gave up their spot in the Russian First Division due to financial difficulties.

Before the 2017–18 season, due to financial difficulties the club did not apply for the professional license to participate in the Russian Professional Football League.
