Dr. Faramarz Tamanna (Persian: فرامرز تمنا, born in Herat, Afghanistan) is a university professor, writer, an Afghan politician and the chancellor of the University of Afghanistan in Kabul.

[1][2] He was Director General of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Afghanistan).

[3] He holds his PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India) in International Studies.

He has held other positions in Afghan diplomatic missions including Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) abroad.

[2] Faramarz took his PhD in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India in November 2014.
