[4] In 2012–13 season, he made his professional debut in the Ghana Premier League whilst playing for Real Tamale United.

[4] He impressed during the trial and was offered a deal with the Accra Hearts of Oak's juvenile side, Auroras FC.

[7][6] In 2017, Mohammed earned a call up to the Ghana A' national football team, the Local Black Stars for a friendly match against Benin in May 2017.

[8] He was a key member of the team that placed second in the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations, losing to Senegal in final via a penalty shootout.

[2] In November 2019, he earned a call up into the main team ahead of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe to serve as a replacement for Harrison Afful who was injured.
