Fatezhsky District (Russian: Фате́жский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-eight in Kursk Oblast, Russia.

The area of the district is 1,281 square kilometers (495 sq mi).

[6] Fatezhsky District is located in the north of Kursk Oblast, on the border with Oryol Oblast to the north.

The terrain is hilly plain averaging 200 meters above sea level; the district lies on the area of the Central Russian Upland.

The area measures 45 km (north-south), and 35 km (west-east); total area is 1,290 km2 (4.3% of Kursk Oblast).
