Population: 36 (2010 Census);[2] 114 (2002 Census);[6] The village is located on the Bolshaya Kuritsa River (a right tributary of the Seym River), 105 km from the Russia–Ukraine border, 29 km north-west of Kursk, 17 km south-east of the district center – the town Fatezh, 5 km from the selsoviet center – Bolshoye Zhirovo.
