The 15th five-year plan is a set of goals for the economic development of China.
A preliminary study for the plan by the National Development and Reform Commission took place on 17 and 18 December 2023.
It may aim to meet CCP general secretary Xi Jinping's goal of doubling the size of the economy between 2020 and 2035.
[3][4] The International Energy Agency has proposed that the 15th five-year plan should implement reforms of the Chinese energy market, including a unified national power market system, to better integrate wind and solar power.
The proposed reforms aim to improve the ability to respond in real time to fluctuations in power demand, so that China can meet its goal of reaching peak carbon emissions before 2030.
