Finley is a city in Steele County, North Dakota.
In 1911, a train wreck in Finley caused by a broken rail killed six and injured 13.
[6] In 1919, the county seat was transferred to Finley from Sherbrooke, North Dakota.

There were 245 housing units at an average density of 70.6 per square mile (27.3/km2).
As of the census of 2000, there were 515 people in 224 households, including 144 families, in the city.
