Finley is a city in Steele County, North Dakota.

In 1911, a train wreck in Finley caused by a broken rail killed six and injured 13.

[6] In 1919, the county seat was transferred to Finley from Sherbrooke, North Dakota.

[7] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.47 square miles (8.99 km2), all land.

[8] As of the census of 2010, there were 445 people in 206 households, including 125 families, in the city.

There were 245 housing units at an average density of 70.6 per square mile (27.3/km2).

As of the census of 2000, there were 515 people in 224 households, including 144 families, in the city.
