Fiona Ross (type designer)

Fiona Ross (born 1954) is a British type designer, academic and linguist.

[5][6][7][8] Ross was employed by Linotype's UK branch for designing fonts in non-Latin systems such as Bengali and Arabic.

[9][10][1] She received a PhD from SOAS, University of London in 1988, writing her thesis on the history of type design in the Bengali alphabet.

[11][12][13] She is a member of the Association Typographique International (ATypI) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

[14] As of 2016, she had worked on type design in systems including: "Arabic, Hindi, Devanagari, Malayalam, Sinhala, and Thai".
