[1] Previously known as Westyard Distribution Center,[2] it was designed by Davis Brody Bond and opened in 1969.

The portals of the North River Tunnels and Empire Connection are beneath the building.
[7] In the 1980s, the external structure was painted beige and brown metal siding was added.
[5] In April 2018, Brookfield obtained a $1.15 billion mortgage loan secured by the building.
