François Pierrot (born November 2, 1961, in Mont Saint Martin) is director of research in The Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics, and Microelectronics (LIRMM).

For more than 15 years, he has been working to create new robots considering simultaneously mechanical design and control strategies, on theoretical aspects as well as in close cooperation with industrial partners in the fields of industry, health and education.
