Frances Mary Guy (born 1 February 1959) is a British former ambassador and UN Women's representative, now chief executive of Scotland's International Development Alliance.
She studied international relations at Aberdeen University, graduating with an undergraduate Master of Arts (MA Hons) degree.
[3] She then worked as head of Middle East region at Christian Aid, based in London.
Frances Guy is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the Middle East & Mediterranean Studies Programme at King's College London.
[5] She is a former president of the British Society of Middle East Studies (BRISMES)[6] and a trustee of the Alexandria Trust for education in the Arab region.
