Frank Jerome Murray

Born in Mansfield, Massachusetts, Murray received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University in 1925 and a Bachelor of Laws from Georgetown Law in 1929.

He was in private practice in Boston, Massachusetts from 1929 to 1938, and was then associate counsel of the New England Agency of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation from 1938 to 1939.

[1] On February 21, 1967, Murray was nominated by President Lyndon B. Johnson to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts vacated by Judge George Clinton Sweeney.

Murray was confirmed by the United States Senate on April 5, 1967, and received his commission the same day.

He assumed senior status on July 15, 1977, serving in that capacity until his death on February 12, 1995, in Boston.
