Fred Jackson (born June 9, 1950) is an American college football coach and former player.

In 2014, he was the longest tenured member of the Michigan Wolverines football coaching staff, having served on the staffs of Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez, and Brady Hoke.

He was a finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach, in 2000.

Hoke and Jackson served as assistants together under Carr and Gary Moeller for a total of eight years including the 1997 national championship season.

His son, Jeremy Jackson, was a wide receiver for the Michigan Wolverines football team from 2010 until 2013 and his younger son, Josh Jackson, was the starting quarterback for the Maryland Terrapins.
