Frederic Township, Michigan

The Au Sable River flows southwards through the eastern part of the township, towards Grayling, while the Manistee River flows southwards through the western part of the township, then veers towards the southwest.

Hartwick Pines State Park and the Huron portion of the Huron-Manistee National Forests are nearby.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,401 people, 555 households, and 397 families residing in the township.

There were 1,092 housing units at an average density of 15.2 per square mile (5.9/km2).

23.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
